Buying cheaply on Cardmarket: save on shipping

How to buy missing cards cleverly on Cardmarket: use the list, bundle with one seller, read the condition right.

Cardmarket is Europe’s biggest marketplace for single cards. Almost every missing card of your collection is available there. The art is not to trip over shipping costs. A few simple rules help.

1. Collect missing cards, don’t buy them one by one

Every order costs shipping. Buying ten cards from ten sellers means paying shipping ten times. So use the 📋 List in TCG-Completist: it gives you all currently shown (e.g. missing) cards as a copyable list with direct Cardmarket links. That way you shop on purpose instead of getting lost.

2. Bundle with the same seller

Cardmarket’s cart optimisation (“Shopping Wizard”) finds you the cheapest combination from as few sellers as possible for a want list. Rule of thumb: several cards from one seller almost always beat the supposedly cheapest single price across different sellers, because you only pay shipping once.

3. Pre-filter language and finish

Our buy links are already pre-filtered to your chosen language and, if you collect foil, to the foil variant. That way you don’t accidentally land on the English card when you need the German one.

4. Read the condition right

Cards are offered by condition, from Mint (as new) over Near Mint and Excellent to Played and Poor. For a pure collection by number a good but not perfect condition is often enough. That saves a lot. For highlights and expensive cards the surcharge for Near Mint is worth it. More on this in the guide Card condition & grading.

5. Price alert instead of constant checking

Expensive cards fluctuate in price. Put them on your ⭐ wishlist and get notified via price alert instead of searching manually every day, so you strike when a card is currently cheap.
